Art and Architecture

Die Sammlung zeitgenössischer Kunst der Deutschen Bank Luxembourg wurde speziell für das im Herbst 1991 bezogene, vom renommierten Kölner Architekten Professor Gottfried Böhm (*1920) entworfenen Gebäude zusammengetragen. Das außen von Säulen umstellte und innen transparente Bankgebäude wird von einer großzügigen, kuppelüberdachten zentralen Halle dominiert. Hier wie in den angrenzenden offenen und geschlossenen Bürozonen findet sich aktuelle Kunst. Innerhalb des Deutsche Bank Konzerns zeichnet sich die luxemburgische Sammlung durch eine fruchtbare Symbiose aus, die die für einen bestimmten Ort ausgesuchte Kunst und die umgebende Architektur eingehen. Das Engagement der Deutsche Bank für bildende Kunst basiert auf der Überzeugung, dass Kunst als Teil der Firmenkultur für Mitarbeiter, Kunden und Besucher in der Bank direkt zugänglich sein sollte.

Anläßlich von Private Art Kirchberg zeigt die Deutsche Bank Luxembourg eine Ausstellung mit Künstlerportraits des Fotografen Benjamin Katz.

The collection of contemporary art of Deutsche Bank Luxembourg was especially brought together for the new building as designed by the famous German architect Gottfried Böhm and finished in 1991. The building surrounded on its outside by sandstone pillars welcomes its visitors inside with a spacious, open and translucent hall topped by a spectacular glass dome. Today’s art is omnipresent in the open office zones as well as in the secluded areas. Within the Deutsche Bank Group the collection in Luxembourg is quite unique with regard to the interaction between art and architecture. Our commitment is based on the conviction that art displayed in the bank as part of our culture and as a major element of our society should be directly accessible to staff, customers and visitors alike.

On the occasion of Private Art Kirchberg, Deutsche Bank Luxembourg will show an exhibition with portraits of artists taken by Benjamin Katz.

La collection d’art contemporain de la Deutsche Bank Luxembourg a été élaborée spécifiquement pour le bâtiment de la banque. La DB Lux s’est installée dans l’immeuble conçu du fameux architecte allemand Gottfried Böhm (* 1920) en automne 1991. L’immeuble, déplacé de colonnes à l’extérieur et transparent à l’intérieur est dominé par une halle centrale et large couverte d’une coupole. Ici, comme dans les zones de bureaux attenantes, se trouve l’art actuel. Dans le cadre du groupe Deutsche Bank la collection d’art luxembourgeoise est caractérisée par une symbiose abondante entretenue par l’art sélectionné en accord avec l’architecture entourante. L’engagement de la Deutsche Bank pour les beaux-arts est fondé sur la conviction que l’art comme partie de la culture d’entreprise devrait être directement accessible aux employés, clients et visiteurs.

À l'occasion de Private Art Kirchberg, Deutsche Bank Luxembourg S.A. présentera une exposition de portraits pris par le photographe Benjamin Katz.
