Le quartier du Kirchberg, avec son essor architectural, avec les sculptures monumentales qui l’ont accompagné, compte aujourd’hui parmi les lieux les plus visités de Luxembourg, contrepoint moderne et contemporain au passé de la forteresse et de la vieille ville.
La BEI,
dans son fonctionnement même, attire un personnel multiculturel qui provient de tous les pays membres de l’Union. Très logiquement, il s’agit donc dans cette collection d’art de rendre compte de la production dans l’espace européen, de suivre à partir de ce qui en a été le fondement dans les vingt ou trente dernières années,
les changements qui s’opèrent en ce moment. La collection est le lieu d’une reflexion, d’un débat sur l’art.

Owing to the rapid growth in new architecture, accompanied by the appearance of monumental sculptures, the Kirchberg Plateau is now one of the most visited parts of Luxembourg. It forms a modern and contemporary counterpoint to the historical fortress and old town.
By its very nature the EIB attracts multicultural staff from all Member States of the Union. Accordingly, the idea behind this art collection is to showcase artistic creation in Europe, tracking the changes taking place today from their inception during the past twenty or thirty years. The collection provides an arena for reflection, for a debate about art.

Der ‘Kirchberg’ ist aufgrund seiner architektonischen Entwicklung und der in diesem Rahmen entstandenen monumentalen Skulpturen zu einem der meistbesuchten Stadtteile geworden. Er bildet einen modernen Gegenpol zur Festung und zur Altstadt.
Die Bank beschäftigt Mitarbeiter mit unterschiedlichem kulturellem Hintergrund aus allen Mitgliedstaaten de EU. Dementsprechend widmet sich die Sammlung der Kunst aus dem europäischen Raum und setzt den Schwerpunkt auf die Entwicklung der letzten 20-30 Jahre. Die Sammlung will Gegenstand der Reflexion und des künstlerischen Diskurses sein. |
