Dès son entrée en de nouveaux murs en 1994, la Banque LBLux a débuté sa collection d’art contemporain. C’est le Prof. Gallwitz qui a développé le concept des «Travaux sur papier». Au centre de la collection, se trouvent des œuvres de jeunes artistes ainsi que d’artistes déjà confirmés. La collection montre l’art sous de nombreuses facettes différentes. Le public, issu de la même génération que l’art exposé, prend conscience d’être confronté à des œuvres et des artistes de son âge. Aujourd’hui, la collection comprend environ 300 œuvres créées par des artistes venant principalement d’Allemagne, mais aussi de Belgique, du Danemark, d’Autriche, du Luxembourg et de Suisse. Auprès d’artistes encore très jeunes figurent aussi des artistes de renom tels que Jörg Immendorf et Dieter Krieg.

Banque LBLux began accumulating its modern art collection when it moved into its new building in 1994. The concept, entitled “Works on Paper”, was developed by Professor Gallwitz. The heart of the
collection consists of art from the younger and middle-aged
generations. The art speaks with many different voices, and those who view it are of the same age and know that the artists are their
contemporaries.The collection today comprises approximately 300 works by artists primarily from Germany, but also from Belgium, Denmark, Austria, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Some of the works were produced by very young artists, but some well-known artists, such as Jörg Immendorf and Dieter Krieg, are also represented.

Die Banque LBLux begann 1994 - mit dem Bezug des neuen
Gebäudes – ihre Sammlung zeitgenössischer Kunst aufzubauen. Das Konzept unter dem Oberbegriff „Arbeiten auf Papier“ wurde von Prof. Dr. Gallwitz entwickelt. Die Sammlung konzentriert sich auf die Kunst der jüngeren und mittleren Generation. Sie spricht mit vielen, unterschiedlichen Stimmen. Sie trifft auf eine gleichaltrige Generation von Betrachtern, die weiß, dass es sich um Künstler ihrer Jahrgänge handelt. Die Sammlung umfasst heute rund 300 Werke von Künstlern überwiegend aus Deutschland, aber auch aus Belgien, Dänemark, Österreich, Luxemburg und der Schweiz. Es handelt sich um Werke von zum Teil sehr jungen Künstlern, aber auch bekannter Künstler, wie z.B. Jörg Immendorf und Dieter Krieg.
